Sickle cell disease is a complex condition that affects millions of people worldwide. However, with increased awareness and support, we can make a difference in the lives of those living with the disease. Here are some ways we can encourage and empower those affected by sickle cell disease:
1. Raise awareness: Educate yourself and others about sickle cell disease. Share information about the condition with your friends, family, and community. You can also participate in events and campaigns that raise awareness about sickle cell disease.
2. Support research: Support organizations that fund research into sickle cell disease. By supporting research, we can find new treatments and potentially a cure for the disease.

What we represent

The Asmau Ali Foundation represents a commitment to creating a more inclusive and empowered society in Nigeria through disability awareness, economic opportunities, and collaborative partnerships.
Founder

Asmau Ali

Miss Asmau Ali, founder of Asmau Ali Foundation, creating awareness about disabilities and various health conditions. A community driven, non profit organisation dedicated to providing a better life for the disabled people of Nigeria. We do this through scholarship programs, preliminary preparation workshops, partnering with donor organisations, hospitals tours etc.

The genesis of the AAF is one that I hold very dear to my heart. Because I have suffered through life challenges, having suffered a stroke at a tender age. It keeps me motivated and gives me a choice to stay enlightened for AAFs philanthropic work.

In the past, we have worked with The National Hospital of Abuja, Ovation Magazine and The Ability Life Initiative. We hope to have more partners in the future.

Thank you and God bless

Happy Democracy Day! Today, let us celebrate the power of democracy and the freedom it brings. It is a reminder of the importance of our voices, our choices, and our collective ability to shape the future. May we continue to cherish and uphold the principles of democracy, ensuring equality, justice, and progress for all. Let us stand united in our pursuit of a better tomorrow. Happy Democracy Day!

The impact of Asmau Ali Foundation’s s donation was profound. Many visually impaired individuals who lacked access to such resources and support were able to gain a renewed sense of independence and empowerment. The organization's commitment to making a difference in the lives of the blind community has truly been inspiring.

We applaud the efforts of Asmau Ali Foundation and hope that the generosity serves as an inspiration for others to contribute to the well-being and empowerment of individuals with visual impairments. Together, we can create a more inclusive and supportive society for everyone.

Dravet syndrome, formerly known as severe myoclonic epilepsy of infancy (SMEI), describes a rare, chronic form of childhood epilepsy that is refractory to treatment. It is a type of developmental epileptic encephalopathy in which intractable seizures result in severe developmental delay and cognitive impairment.

Seizures due to DS often manifest within the first 2 to 15 months of life. It is estimated that between 3% and 8% of children who experience seizures within the first year of life may have DS. Seizures in DS often occur along with a fever and are prolonged, lasting 15 to 30 minutes or longer. This febrile convulsive status epilepticus occurs frequently in children with DS, requiring urgent medical attention.

Yesterday, our team visited the FCT School for the Blind, Jabi. We donated 50 White Canes to aid mobility for the children.

This was such a fulfilling moment for us knowing how much this means to them. Their warm welcome was also very pleasing! You can tell from their welcome song😊

More pictures to come..
