Miss Asmau Ali, founder of Asmau Ali Foundation, creating awareness about disabilities and various health conditions. A community driven, non profit organisation dedicated to providing a better life for the disabled people of Nigeria. We do this through scholarship programs, preliminary preparation workshops, partnering with donor organisations, hospitals tours etc.
The genesis of the AAF is one that I hold very dear to my heart. Because I have suffered through life challenges, having suffered a stroke at a tender age. It keeps me motivated and gives me a choice to stay enlightened for AAFs philanthropic work.
In the past, we have worked with The National Hospital of Abuja, Ovation Magazine and The Ability Life Initiative. We hope to have more partners in the future.

“There’s Ability in Disability” Since most of the people suffer from major behavioural disorders or are too old or students who can no longer continue in other special schools.
The volunteers at the Asmau Ali Foundation make use awareness as therapeutic ways of helping them overcome their problem. They are provided constructive occupation of adding value to a range of items like wheelchairs, clothes, upholstery, and their likes.
In the past, Asmau Ali Foundation has had associations with corporates like Tali Foundation, Ovation Magazine, Internal Displaced Persons (IDPs) and the National Hospital Abuja (Nigeria)
Asmau Ali has also actively been a part of various student activity programs where students from certain parts of Nigeria are enlightened on. These include people with severe and multiple disabilities as well.
About 55% of persons with disability are supporting their families and 45% are primary bread winners (as per a survey) (2021).
Her work in disability has also provided her a unique lens on leadership which has led to defining the competency that leaders need to have to work with any kind of Dissimilarity as Involvement.
